DEMO #2: STUDENT HALL IN BADAJOZ (RUCAB)
TECHNOLOGY CONCERNED: Wasenco provides a self-cleaning heat recovery system for waste water with multi-usable Ecowec hybrid heat exchanger.
CONCEPT OF THE DEMONSTRATION: The Ecowec hybrid heat exchanger is installed to RUCAB campus kitchen and it is ready for testing. Ecowec will pre-heat the dishwashers inlet water with the heat of the waste water coming from the kitchen. The target is to recycle the heat energy and lower the electric consumption.

EXPECTED RESULTS
The system is expected to reduce the electric consumption of the existing dishwashers through a preheating of the water, minimising the consumption and impact of the existing boiler.
In collaboration with the University of Badajoz, this is the second LowUP demonstration site. This hall of residence is modern and functional located next to the university campus of Badajoz (Spain). Here, the system to recover heating from the sewage will be installed and tested, as a novelty way to operate in the heating supply system.
